History:

Grandmaster Woo Jong Pill commenced his journey in Taekwondo in 1973, studying at Yongin University, the institution that established the first Taekwondo Department. He graduated as an exceptional sparring athlete, which led him to serve in the military, where he instructed Taekwondo to the Korean Special Forces.

Following his military tenure, he established Cheung Do Kwan in 1988, aiming to cultivate mental fortitude, as he believed that a robust mindset would enable students to achieve limitless growth. His contributions to Taekwondo began with coaching at the University of Hong Kong, the British Royal Navy Base, and Osborn Barracks until the handover in 1997. He also worked with various International Schools and Clubhouses, where his students eventually opened their own schools, further promoting the expansion of Taekwondo.

Today, Cheung Do Kwan stands as Hong Kong’s premier Taekwondo institution, dedicated to enhancing both the mental and physical capabilities of its students.
